Another Flat Creek Contemplation

(For you, Michele. Thanks for asking)

Somewhere, Something happened.

SomeOne came and took up residence SomeWhere.

I only know this; a deep Silence and Stillness. This is Who has taken up residence in this Heart.

How to explain the inexplicable? It is not this creek or this cabin. It is not this chant in the background or the books read. It is a moment, a pause. And, the awareness of a presence that is Itself the source of all that is good and that is peace-filled, is made known. It arises.

A Presence.

Not the thing I got or got rid of – it is simpler than that.

Pausing, one senses It.

More and more, it is noticed. As Now.

How to explain the inexplicable, I asked. The answer is this – we try as if we are leaving footprints for you to follow. So many teachings all leading to One. And, as we each make this journey, with grace and courage, we come to so many places where the path is strewn with rocks and roots. We tread carefully.

There are many obstacles and there is great suffering to endure, for the path requires awareness of the great suffering we have harbored. We finally see it there, within the mind and, as it is seen, it is transformed.

Awareness is transcendent. The pain becomes the path.

One must be ready and only the Teacher knows who and when.

So, keep surrendering. Bow to the Teacher and to all others for they inhabit the Self. Bow to all that you see and to all Creation.

Over and over.

In bowing, we give it up – the false ideas and perceptions. All goes! Each and every thing. Each thought and perception. Each tiny concept of who you think you are that this ego-body-i-am-self is comprised of – these become the offerings!

And, there is no peace beyond this and no peace you can find in the world. Whatever moments you have of this deep deep contentment, know this; it comes from an Eternal Grace and is ever present. We are made aware ony when we pause.

So, pause now.

Rest now.

Be still.

It calls to you and It comes to you, as You.

May this simple contemplation be for you, a moment when you pause and in this reflection, see your True Self.
